  • Inglés, con subtítulos en español

Jonathon Young and Crystal Pite take an archetypical comical storyline and use it as the basis for a hybrid version of theater and contemporary dance. In this play, eight dancers from Kidd Pivot bring the dialogue recorded by some of the best actors in Canada to life, exploring the conflict, comedy and corruption in the powerful relationship between language and body. It’s from the creators of internationally acclaimed piece Betroffenheit, winner of the Olivier award for Best New Dance Production.

Inspired by the comedy The Inspector by Russian Nikolai Gogol (1836), this piece has been described as hilarious by critics. “A tale of petty bureaucracy, mistaken identity, mixed motives and revolving doors. With their hunches, strides, flinches and shrugs, the dancers give the script an exaggerated, silent-film feel: broad humor in fine form”, said English newspaper The Guardian about this production.
